I have been going to an awesome horse camp since the 70’s, 4J Big Piney Horse Camp. It started out as the National Scenic Trail Rides. It is owned and operated by the Laughlin family and is located near Duke, Missouri. They serve two delicious homemade meals per day, breakfast and dinner. The air conditioned mess hall is open 24 hours per day with water, coffee, lemonade and tea available. Its a great place to play cards and games or do crafts:) There are events planned every day except Friday, including get acquainted night with awards and door prizes, fun horse show, bands/karaoke, tack swap meet, live auction with new items from their tack shop, and Bingo/Anniversary Birthday party.
You can ride on your own or follow one of the owners out daily. Trails are wooded and have many beautiful bluffs along the Big Piney river. There is access to the river for afternoon floats or just sit and cool off in the river. All sites have water and electric and there are covered box stalls and woodchips provided for your horse. A local Septic business who comes around 2x per week to empty holding tanks. Also, a trailer repair man comes one day and will do many types of repairs on your campers. He is very good and reasonably priced.
This is a very family friendly camp and the owners are friendly, inviting and very accommodating to what ever you might need during the week. I highly recommend this camp for a fun week of riding, camping and activities.
